As the remnants of Florence slowly, but surely make their way up the East Coast, bringing with it strong winds and heavy rains, Orange County residents found themselves suffering from a series of power outages early on Tuesday.
As of noon on Sept. 18, 1,199 of Orange and Rockland Utilities customers were reporting outages in Orange County. South Blooming Grove was hit the hardest, with 1,100 customers affected by outages - good for 91 percent of residents in the area. Blooming Grove (50 outages), Monroe (43), Goshen, Greenville, Kiryas Joel, Tuxedo and Middletown (one each) also had customers without power.
